Build and test process

How ToolFlowCo products are built and tested

This page explains how ToolFlowCo products are built, from defining the workflow to reviewing common exceptions and preparing product guidance. A practical product should make its purpose, requirements and limitations clear before it is offered for sale.

How ToolFlowCo products are built: the six stages

  1. 01

Define the business problem and intended users

Start with the records and decisions the intended business needs to manage. A stock tracker and a receiving-to-packing warehouse system have different scope.

  2. 02

Map the records, actions, decisions and outputs in the workflow

Follow the record through the process: for example, a quote becomes a job, a receipt changes stock, or a maintenance plan leads to a work order.

  3. 03

Build the interface and rules using the appropriate platform

Match the interface to the stated platform. Excel forms, an Access database and a connected Google web app have different software and setup requirements.

  4. 04

Test normal workflows, empty states and common exception conditions

Review empty records, missing information, incomplete workflows and common invalid entries. Individual build stories describe product-specific decisions and testing examples.

  5. 05

Prepare sample data, blank-use copies and compatibility guidance

Check the included-files list for the individual product. Demonstration files, blank copies and manuals are not assumed to be identical across every tool.

  6. 06

Review the product page, screenshots, included files and purchase information

Compare the published workflow, screenshots, compatibility, included files and purchase destination. State limitations instead of implying unsupported capabilities.

Important

Business requirements, security policies, network setup and software versions vary. Buyers remain responsible for confirming that a product is appropriate for their environment.

Keep platform guidance separate from product evidence

Microsoft Excel help, Microsoft Access help and Google Apps Script web-app documentation explain the underlying software platforms. The build stories above describe ToolFlowCo development work; they do not certify compatibility with every installation. Ask a product-specific question before purchase when your required setup or workflow is not addressed.
